As we head into the final stretch before the holidays, I thought it would be fun to share something a little more personal: the treats our team can’t stop snacking on. DWN Chocolate is more than a one-woman show and behind every chocolate bar, tumble and salted caramel is an incredible group of women who craft, package and cheer on every product we create. So I asked them which DWN product is their ultimate favourite treat and here are their top picks.
Starting off with everyone's favourite customer service representative is Jaz (aka my mom) who prefers any combination of nuts + chocolate. Jaz' choice is the caramelized milk chocolate macadamia nuts. Both the macadamia nuts and the milk powder in the chocolate are caramelized to created a deep roasty toasty flavour.
Kate is our master panner (ie, coating centres in chocolate) and her choice is the spiced kiss milk chocolate bar. She says that it is a unique product in the collection and reminds her of her favourite time of the year; Valentine's Day. This milk chocolate is spiced with cardamom, cinnamon, cassia bark, nutmeg and rose petals.
You might have started meeting Faye on the road as she is our latest hire. In her own words, "my top pick is the Chillin' Mix. As someone who loves both popcorn and chocolate, I appreciate products that bring these flavours together in a satisfying way. Chillin' Mix does this perfectly, popcorn-infused chocolate covers crisp malt balls, and there's just enough salty pretzel balls to balance things out. The caramel rounds add a smooth finish, rounding out a flavour profile that's both rich and well-balanced."
Nikki works at DWN over the winter (and spends the summer working near Bala). Her favourite item is the salty almonds covered in milk chocolate because they are crunchy, salty and sweet; a great combination of flavour and texture. This tumble has evolved into a milk chocolate bar that will remain on the permanent menu.
